What can I expect from a Hatha Yoga class?

Hatha Yoga is composed of a varied set of techniques. In beginners’ classes, the focus is on Asana (postures), Pránáyáma (breathing) and Yoganidra (relaxation) techniques.

The class begins with the coordination of movement with Ujjayi breathing (Pránáyáma technique). The aim is to bring breathing from an automatic process to a conscious one, coordinating body movement with breathing, gradually entering a state of greater concentration and focus of attention, conducive to the practice of yoga.

During the class, different asana techniques are developed that strengthen the body, develop flexibility, and release physical and mental tension.

The class ends with a pranayama or Yoganidra technique, promoting a state of deep inner relaxation and mental clarity.
