I have always been fascinated by the practice of Yoga, by curiosity, and by the growing sense of wellbeing it brings.
I began attending Yoga classes in Scotland in 1998. Later, while living in the United States, I practised Iyengar Yoga. However, I feel that I only truly began practising in Lisbon in 2005, when, following unanimous recommendations for excellence, I found the Portuguese Yoga Centre (CPYOGA).
I was impressed by the precision of the teaching and the intelligence behind the practice. The respect for each individual’s pace of progress. The rigour, the absence of dogmatism, and the quiet sense of humour. Since then, being a student at the Portuguese Yoga Centre has become both a privilege and a priority.
In 2009, I attended the Personal Practice Development Course. Between 2014 and 2017, I completed the Teacher Training Course. I had no intention of teaching; I enrolled simply to deepen my own practice.
To my surprise, I began teaching in 2017. I embraced the challenge of teaching what I most wish to learn: to practise consistently, to breathe with ease, and to overcome challenges with focus. Every class and every student is a daily opportunity to refine clarity and cultivate empathy.
Yoga enriches my everyday life. It lifts my spirits and continually renews my desire to share the benefits of this practice with others.
